When the Holidays Feel Different: GriefShare Offers Hope and Support in Union Grove
88.5 JFM Community Events | Saturday, October 17, 2026
The holidays are often described as the most wonderful time of the year. But when you’re grieving the loss of someone you love, the season can feel very different.
The empty chair at the table. The traditions that don’t feel quite the same. The memories that bring both smiles and tears.
If you’re facing the holidays while grieving a loss, you don’t have to navigate the season alone.
Union Chapel Church in Union Grove is hosting GriefShare’s “Surviving the Holidays,” a free, two-hour seminar designed to offer encouragement, support, and practical tools for those experiencing grief.
A Little Help for a Difficult Season
“Surviving the Holidays” is an opportunity to find support and encouragement as you prepare for the emotional challenges the holiday season may bring.
Whether your loss is recent or you’ve been carrying grief for some time, this gathering offers an opportunity to receive encouragement and discover helpful ways to approach the weeks ahead.

You Don’t Have to Face the Holidays Alone
Grief doesn’t follow a calendar, and there’s no single right way to experience the holidays after a loss.
If this season feels especially heavy, consider spending a couple of hours with others who understand that the holidays can be complicated.
And if someone comes to mind as you’re reading this, consider sharing this event with them. A simple invitation may help someone find encouragement when they need it most.
From your friends at 88.5 JFM, making your day better.
