Jeremy Camp Movie ‘I Still Believe’ in the Works

After releasing the box office smash hit for faith-based audiences, I Can Only ImagineErwin Brothers Entertainment (Jon Erwin, Andrew Erwin and producing partner Kevin Downes) now turn their attention to producing yet another faith-based project; this time centered on singer Jeremy Camp.

Shania Twain is joining the cast of Lionsgate’s faith-based biopic about Jeremy Camp, “I Still Believe,” the studio announced on Monday.

Along with the five-time Grammy winner, Britt Robertson (“Girlboss”), Melissa Roxburgh (“Manifest”) and Nathan Dean Parsons (“Roswell, New Mexico”) are joining the cast.ADVERTISING

The film, to be directed by brothers Jon and Andrew Erwin, previously cast “Riverdale” actor KJ Apa to play Camp and Gary Sinise to play his father, Tom Camp. Twain will play Camp’s mother in the film.

Camp is a Grammy-nominated singer and songwriter who has sold over 5 million albums and has toured all over the world. He has received four RIAA-certified Gold albums, two American Music Awards nominations, multiple ASCAP awards, 38 No. 1 songs, a gold digital single (“There Will Be A Day”), and a multi-platinum DVD.

“I Still Believe” is meant to be an uplifting true-life story of Christian music star Jeremy Camp and his journey of love and loss that looks to prove there is always hope.

The film, being produced by Kevin Downes. begins shooting in Alabama later this month and is set to be released on March 20, 2020.

Robertson will play Camp’s love interest and wife, Melissa Henning, who is described as having sharp wit and a beautiful, joyful spirit, with a strong and sincere faith in God that guides her every decision.

She was most recently seen on the Shonda Rhimes ABC series, “For The People” and she played the title role in Netflix’s series, “Girlboss.” In 2017, she appeared in “The Space Between Us” and DreamWorks’ “A Dog’s Purpose,” starring opposite Dennis Quaid.

Roxburgh will play Melissa Henning’s older sister, Heather. Roxburgh currently stars in NBC’s series “Manifest” which was just renewed for Season 2 and was the No. 1 new fall series of 2018. She’s also had several other TV roles, including on “Supernatural,” “Arrow,” and “Legends of Tomorrow.”

Like I Can Only Imagine, the motion picture based on the life of MercyMe lead singer Bart MillardI Still Believewill center on the true-life spiritual journey of Jeremy Camp. Industry speculations are that the movie will portray the tragic death of Camp’s first wife, Melissa Lynn Henning-Camp, and the redemption he found through his second wife, Adrienne Camp.

Jeremy Camp has sold over 5 million albums and has toured the world, sharing his music in more than 36 countries.

The Erwin Brothers have contributed many substantial works to the faith-based genre in recent years. In addition to I Can Only Imagine, some of their other motion picture titles include Moms’ Night Out, Woodlawn, and October Baby.

I Still Believe starts shooting this spring and will open on March 20, 2020 to wide release.
